On 20 March 2025, the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC) issued the General Application and Implementation Directive (GAID) 2025 to operationalise the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA) 2023.

The GAID reflects the NDPC’s focus on transparency, accountability, and global alignment in data protection practices. Organizations are encouraged to review and align their operations accordingly.
