Joshua finished with First Class Honours from the Nigerian Law School, and as the Second Overall Best Graduating Student and the Best Graduating Male Student for the 2021/2022 academic session. He earned awards in 3 academic categories – Civil Litigation, Property Law Practice and Professional Ethics and Skills – and 6 categories overall. He obtained his Bachelor of Laws Degree from the University of Nigeria, where he emerged as the Third Best Graduating Male Student.
As an undergraduate, he was an avid debater and mooter, and rose to become a Senior Advocate of the University of Nigeria, Chairman of the Moot & Mock Trial Committee of the Students’ Bar Association, and the pioneer President of the University of Nigeria Debating Society. He represented the University of Nigeria at various national and international debating and moot tournaments, including the West African Universities Debating Championship and the ECOWAS-sponsored Intervarsities Speech Contest.
He has legal interests in corporate finance, competition Law, and Intellectual Property law. His other interests include writing, and in his final year, he served as the chair of the Editorial Board of the Faculty of Law Magazine. In addition, he was one of the winners of the 2021 World Intellectual Property (WIPO) Nigeria National Essay Competition.
Prior to joining TEMPLARS, Joshua had interned with reputable law firms in Lagos, Nigeria. He is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association.
